Over 200 of us gathered at the recent Western New Castle County Town Hall to speak out against the devastating impact of Delaware’s property tax reassessments. The stories were heartbreaking—families, seniors, and homeowners being pushed to the brink by skyrocketing tax bills. Some are now facing foreclosure.
Delaware currently has the highest foreclosure rate in the country since 2024. This new tax increase will only make things worse—and we must act before more people lose their homes. (According to reports from early 2025, Delaware had the highest foreclosure rate in the United States. Specifically, one in every 2,256 housing units in Delaware had a foreclosure filing in March 2025, according to Savannah CEO. This is higher than other states with high foreclosure rates, like Nevada, Illinois, and Indiana.) Click here

- Now, the Speaker and Majority Leader are only allowing Democrat-sponsored bills on the agenda for the August 12 special session.

- Pause ALL tax increases until the reassessment process is fully audited and verified as fair.
- Repeal or reform the law allowing school districts to automatically raise taxes by up to 10% with no oversight
- Audit Tyler Technologies — their process must be independently reviewed for fairness and accuracy.
- Include ALL voices — Why aren’t any Republican-sponsored bills on the special session agenda? This is a bipartisan issue and should be treated like one.
